2005 Coastal Nonpoint Program National Conference,

Overview: NOAA and EPA hosted a national conference that brought together state Coastal Nonpoint Program (CNP) coordinators, NOAA and EPA staff to discuss continued program implementation. The focus areas for this year’s conference were: 1) promoting interagency collaboration and nonpoint pollution reduction through coastal community development; 2) tracking and evaluating program implementation; and 3) creatively leveraging program funding to maintain strong, effective programs. State CNP coordinators, federal partners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and consultants presented case studies demonstrating how state Coastal Nonpoint Programs are addressing these issues. The conference also included discussions on the future direction for the Coastal Nonpoint Program.
